DiGiCo Quantum 112: Flyweight Power
“Check 1… 1-2…” – DiGiCo introduces the Quantum112, its first flypack mixer. Weighing only 23kg (50lbs) when packed in a custom Pelican™ Air 1637 case, this compact console delivers the full power of the Quantum range in a form factor small enough to qualify as standard checked luggage on most flights. Built for touring, broadcast, and live production, the Quantum112 is rugged, portable, and uncompromising in capability.
Compact Form, Full Quantum Feature Set
Despite its travel-ready size, the Quantum112 provides 80 mono input channels, 24 aux/sub-group busses, LR/LCR master busses, a 12×8 full processing matrix, and 12 control groups plus two solo busses. Powered by DiGiCo’s seventh-generation FPGA technology, every channel benefits from full processing, with ultra-low latency and high dynamic range.
Intuitive Display and Control
The surface combines a 17-inch, 1000-nit high-brightness multitouch screen with an integrated meterbridge and soft quick-select buttons for speed and clarity. Eighteen full-colour TFT displays above the channels provide instant feedback, while twelve 100mm touch-sensitive motorised faders deliver precision control in any environment.
Quantum Processing
The Quantum112 includes 20 Mustard Processing strips, six Spice Rack slots for plugin-style FPGA processing, and 24 nodal processing paths with 4-band parametric and dynamic EQ. Twelve 32-band graphic EQs and eight FX rack slots (delays, reverbs, pitch shifters, enhancers, choruses) are also available. Mustard strips provide advanced EQ and dynamics models, while Spice Rack options extend creative sound-shaping capability.
I/O and Connectivity
On the rear panel, the desk offers 16 mic/line inputs and 8 line outputs, all using DiGiCo’s 32-bit “Stadius” preamps and DACs. Built-in 64×64 Dante connectivity is provided on Ethercon, with one AES/EBU input (2ch) and one AES/EBU output (2ch). Four MADI ports allow up to four interfaces at 48kHz or two at 96kHz, plus redundant operation. Two DMI slots (up to 64 I/O each) and integrated UB MADI (USB Type-B for 32 channels of record/playback) ensure flexibility. An optional Optocore loop can add 504 audio paths at 48/96kHz, with connector types including HMA, OpticalCon, or ST.
Audio Performance
The Quantum112 delivers reference-grade audio performance: 48/96kHz sample rates, 32-bit A/D and D/A conversion, and 40-bit floating-point internal processing. End-to-end delay is typically just 0.5ms (mic in to line out, no processing). Frequency response is flat within ±0.2dB (20Hz–20kHz), with THD+N below 0.002%, channel separation over 100dB at 10kHz, and EIN better than −127.5dBu (A-weighted). Maximum input and output levels reach +22dBu, ensuring ample headroom.
Channel Processing
Every input channel supports analogue gain, digital trim (−40 to +40dB), variable delay (0ms to 1.3s), DiGiTube emulation, HPF/LPF (−24dB/Oct), 4-band parametric/dynamic EQ, two dynamics processors (compressor/multiband/de-esser plus gate/duck/external), and two insert points. Busses include similar options with additional merge input, tone generator, and 8-band EQ (4 parametric + 4 dynamic/parametric). Control is further enhanced by EQ/dynamics order selection, channel mute/hard mute, direct outputs, and flexible routing.
Advanced Features
Across the system, multiband compressors and dynamic EQs are available on every channel, buss, and nodal processor. Virtual Soundcheck allows seamless switch between live inputs and playback, while True Solo ensures monitoring precision. Redundant internal PSUs are included for reliability. Two GPI and two GPO jacks provide simple control integration.
Compatible DMI Options
Supported DMI cards include ADC, AES, AMM, AVB, Aviom, DAC, Dante (standard and 64@96), Hydra 2, KLANG, MADI B, MADI C, ME, Mic, and Waves, offering complete system expandability.
